The Dotson Cabin TIMELINE
Early fall of 2018.
Discovery and confirmation of Dotson Cabin at 3R Ranch
Reeves and Betsy Brown want to donate the cabin to Beulah community
Formation of Beulah Heritage Preservation League and application for non profit submitted to IRS
Fundraising started.
Project manager Joe Arrigo and his crew start deconstruction of the cabin. Must be moved from 3R by December 2019.
Discussion starts with Pueblo County School District 70 to locate cabin at Beulah School of Natural Science.
Winter 2018/2019
Deconstruction continues
District 70 proposes giving the triangle park cabin site to BHPL
Fundraising activities commence
Community meeting to present cabin plans
September 2019
Application for 501©3 received in May

Quit claim deed to cabin site slowly progresses
July—Foundation for cabin poured and decked

Quit claim deed to school property filed, transferring it to BHPL!
cabin deconstruction finished and site at 3R Ranch cleaned up and graded
Logs bundled for reconstruction and moved to Charlie Wohlwend’s barn
Work begins with Pueblo Regional Building to get a building permit
Winter 2019
Building permit obtained
Grant funding increases

Reconstruction begins! With unique roof to protect logs while building the walls, to be lowered onto walls when they are up.

Oil timbers for preservation
